With an important 2-1 victory over Hickory Hills on Sunday, Ozark JV1 finished the season in the #3 spot with a record of 4-3-1 behind #1 Pleasant View (8-0-0) and Catholic (4-2-2).  Ozark goals were scored by Tyler Sartain and Bailey Williams.
 
Ozark JV1 suffered two losses on back-to-back nights this week with a team weakened by the flu.  The Tigers lost to Cherokee 0-1 on a penalty kick given during the play of the game on Tuesday.  Then fell to Bolivar on Wednesday by a score of 1-2. Ozark’s goal scored by Blake Furguson.  Ozark’s record falls to 3-3-1 with one final game remaining next Tuesday against #2 ranked Hickory Hills. 
 
Ozark JV1 improved their record to 3-1-1 with a decisive 5-1 victory over Rogersville.  Sam Gunnels scored two goals for Ozark in the first half to give the Tigers a 2-0 halftime lead.  Cyler Gannon extended Ozarks lead to 3 in the opening minute of the second half.  The Wildcats scored midway through the second half before Robert Broadstreet and Blake Furguson each added goals for the Tigers resulting in the final score.
 
Ozark JV1 wins exciting game against Jarrett 2-1 on a goal in the final 30 seconds of the game by Sam Gunnels (assisted by Bailey Williams).  Mason Shelor scored the other goal for Ozark when he skillfully volleyed the ball into the back of the net after it was served into the 6-yard box from a corner by Robert Broadstreet.
 
Ozark JV1 suffers first (and hopefully only) loss of the season to #1 ranked Pleasant View on Friday, Sept 25, by a score of 1-4.  Ozark’s goal was scored by Cyler Gannon.
 
Ozark JV1 defeats Catholic on Tuesday, September 8, by a score of 3-2.  Hunter Wallace gave the Tigers the lead midway through the first half.  Catholic got the equalizer from a corner kick late in the first half.  Sam Gunnels gave the lead back to Ozark in the opening minutes of the second half.  Catholic tied it at 2-2 a few minutes later.    Gunnels got the game winner for the Tigers with approximately 10 minutes left to play and Ozark held on to win with some big saves from the Tiger keepers Hudson Speer and Ross Ruhmann.
 
Ozark JV1 ties Pershing 2-2 in the opening game for the Tiger JV1 team on September 1.  Goals for Ozark were scored by 6th grader Bailey Williams and 8th grader Sam Gunnels.
 
 All Ozark boys, 6th grade – 8th grade, who are interested in playing soccer this fall for Ozark in the Middle School League at Lake Country please contact Coach Jason William immediately.  Jason’s email address is jason@ariseng.com and his cell phone # is 818-7114.  The first training sessions might be held this weekend (August 22-23) and there will be additional training sessions scheduled for the week of August 24-28.  The cost of the league is $60 per player.  Required registration forms and other information will be distributed at the first training sessions.
