<div><strong>Nixa wins over Ozark in Double Overtime on Tuesday.</strong></div>
<div> </div>
<div>After a scoreless first half, Nixa got on the board after Ozark&#8217;s Goalkeeper, Sophomore Ryan Bilyeu, was charged with fouling a Nixa forward in the box, resulting in a penalty kick.  Nixa&#8217;s Josh Rose stepped up and finished the PK to give the Eagles a 1-0 lead.  The score remain that until the 75th minute when Zach Moore scored from a throw in tying the score at 1-1.</div>
<div> </div>
<div>In overtime both teams had chances to score but Ozark had no answer for Nixa Goalkeeper Marcus Fernandes, who made several game saving stops.  Chandler Hale scored with four minutes left in overtime to give Nixa the 2-1 win.  The JV match ended in a 0-3 loss for the Tigers.</div>
<div>
<div><strong>Early Goal Not Enough to hold back Hillcrest on Monday</strong></div>
<div> </div>
<div>The Hillcrest Hornets doubled up the Ozark Tigers on Monday night at the Cooper Complex, the final score 6-3.</div>
<div> </div>
<div>For the third game in a row, Ozark scored first when Seth Hampton tapped in a goal from a short distance with a nice assist credited to freshman, Jacob Agee.  But only five minutes later Hillcrest tied the game on a goal from senior Bryce Collier. Five minutes later, Hillcrest then scored off a corner kick that Ozark was unable to clear out of the box.  Hillcrest&#8217;s third goal of the half came after a center pass to a Hillcrest forward bounced off the knee of a Hillcrest player then off of a Ozark defender and then in the goal, giving them a 3-1 lead.  Zach Moore narrowed the margin in the 37th minute on a penalty kick after Hillcrest was called for a handball in the box.</div>
<div> </div>
<div>Hillcrest opened the scoring in the second half on a free kick by Collier.  Collier put his right foot on the ball, bending it to the right, just out of the reach of the goalkeeper.  Hillcrest scored again on a ball that Ozark failed to clear out of its zone. increasing their lead to 5-2.  Ozark came right back off the kickoff with Zach Marlow using his speed, running down a long pass, and beating the Hillcrest goalkeeper for a goal, making the score 5-3.  But the Tigers could get no closer, and Hillcrest scored a final goal near the end of the game making the final score 6-3.</div>
<div> </div>
<div>Goals for Hillcrest &#8212; Collier 3, Michael Freeman 2, Cody Wallace 1</div>
<div>Goals for Ozark &#8212; Moore 1, Marlow 1, Hampton 1</div>
<div> </div>
<div>JV Score &#8212; Ozark 4 Hillcrest 0</div>

<div>Ozark had their hands full on Thursday night, playing the more experienced and confident Kickapoo chiefs. Ozark&#8217;s strategy against Kickapoo mirrored the strategy they used against Carthage just two nights earlier: play a very defensive game, then take advantage of scoring opportunities when possible.</div>
<div>Ozark held Kickpoo scoreless through most of the first half. In the 37th minute of play, senior Jeremy Dauer got the Tigers on the scoreboard first when he finished a ball that was played back into the box on the left side of the goal. The ball had just been punched out of the box by Kickapoo&#8217;s keeper following an Ozark corner kick. But Kickapoo, who controlled the ball much of the first half scored two goals in the final two minutes before the halftime whistle to give Kickapoo a 2-1 halftime lead. Ryan Moses and Skyler Russell tallied the goals for Kickapoo.</div>
<div>In the second half, Ozark had a couple of quality chances to get within one goal, but it was not to be.  Moses scored again in the 54th minute on a free kick that ricocheted off of a Tiger defender. Russell scored the games final goal in the 74th minute, to make the score 4-1.  (report by Ray Presnell)</div>

<p>Junior midfielder Zach Moore continued his scoring streak and put the Tigers on the board with a goal in the 3rd minute of play against the visiting Webb City Cardinals on a sunny Friday afternoon in Tiger Stadium.  Junior teammate <a href="http://www.flickr.com/photos/7314862@N04/2852570464/in/set-72157600058759436/">Landon Hunter </a>got the second goal of the game for Ozark in the 12th minute of the game as he pulled a beautiful move made famous by Argentina&#8217;s legendary Diego Maradona as he beat his defender up the right side of the field and placed a hard low shot across the face of the goal and past the Webb City keeper into the far side netting.  Zach Moore would score his second goal of the game to give Ozark a 3-0 lead in the 29th minute after receiving a pass through traffic from Seth Hampton.  Late in the first half, Webb City got their first goal as Kyle Handley floated a long free kick into the wind from 30+ yards out.  The ball hung in the air and then managed to dip just under the cross bar and over the finger tips of Ozark&#8217;s keeper, Matt Funderburk.  The score at half-time was 3-1 in favor of the Tigers.</p>
<p>The Cardinals came out with increased energy with the wind in their back and seemed to take control of the game for the first 10 to 15 minutes of the second half.  Eight minutes into the half, Ryan Clark got their second goal of the game to draw within one of the Ozark Tigers and then had a couple other opportunities to even the score and change the course of the game.  Momentum however shifted back to the Tigers midway through the second half and was evidenced by junior <a href="http://www.flickr.com/photos/30469038@N04/2851345963/">Seth </a>Hampton&#8217;s goal in the 58th minute followed up a minute later with a goal by senior <a href="http://www.flickr.com/photos/7314862@N04/2852570650/in/set-72157600058759436/">Zach Marlow</a>.  Marlow would find the back of the net again in the 67th minute to give the Tigers a 6-2 lead.  Junior Andrew VanHoesen crashed the goal on a set piece in the 72nd minute of play and headed the ball that came off the keeper&#8217;s gloves back over the keeper and into the goal for the final Ozark goal of the game.  Webb City did not give up however, and Jordan Wood found the back of the net one more time for the Cardinals in the final seconds of stoppage time to result in the final score of 7-3 in favor of the Ozark Tigers.  The victory puts the Tigers in the winner&#8217;s bracket of the tournament and guarantees they will play all games on their home turf.  Ozark will play Carthage on Saturday morning at 10:45.  Carthage defeated Branson by a score of 7-0 on Friday night in Nixa.  A win against Carthage puts Ozark in the championship game at 4:00 pm.  A loss puts them in the 3rd place game at 2:15 pm.</p>

<div>Parkvew Viking GoalKeeper, Jonathan Malter, shutout the Ozark Tigers Wednesday night at JFK Stadium.  Despite several chances to score, Ozark came up empty on the night.  Parkvew started the scoring in the 25th minute with Matt Medley scoring on a Penalty Kick that just went off the outstretched hands of Ozark GoalKeeper, Matt Funderburk.  The second goal was scored by Morgen Holt in the 31st minute after he beat a defender to the middle of the field and shot a low, screaming ball that found the bottom corner of the net.  Holt put the game away in the 2nd half by scoring his second goal of the game, making the final score 3-0. </div>

<div>In the JV Game, despite being down 3-0 at halftime the JV Tigers battled back to make it a 3-1 game on an unassisted goal by L.J. Van Helden off of a goalie misplay, with 19 minutes left in the game.  Jacob Agee (pictured above) scored on a Penalty Kick to make the score 3-2, but that turned out to be the final score, despite Ozark having several scoring opportunites after Agee&#8217;s goal.  (game reports provided by Ray Presnell)</div>
