Collard scores 3 to lead Ozark to a 6-1 victory over Greenwood

The Lady Tigers played Greenwood on Tuesday night on Cooper 2 at Lake Country Soccer in Springfield.  Senior Erica Hogan opened the scoring for the Tigers in the 13th minute when she knocked in a beautiful cross served from deep in the right corner by Alicia Collard.  A minute later, Collard scored the eventual game winning goal when she collected a cross sent in by Megan Gunnels from the left side.  Collard received the ball just wide of the far post and buried it in the back of the net.  The third goal of the evening for Ozark was scored on a penalty kick taken by Hogan in the 28th minute of play.  Greenwood sophomore Maddie Ester took the ball from midfield in the 34th minute, beat a couple defenders and then placed the ball past Ozark’s keeper on a solo attacking run to put Greenwood on the scoreboard.  Alicia Collard (assisted by Megan Stodden) answered back in stoppage time to set the score at 4-1 going into halftime.

Sophomore Megan Gunnels scored the fifth goal of the night for the Lady Tigers in the 47th minute as she received the ball in the middle of the field and turned and attacked the goal from the right.  She beat her mark and struck the ball from about 15 yards out.  The final goal of the night came in the 58th minute when Gunnels was attacking up the center of the box and slid a ball in front of Alicia Collard who was making a run into the box on her right.  Collard finished it beautifully to the far side of the keeper.  With the victory, Ozark improved to 10-1.  Way to go Tigers!
