Sad news for Ozark Lady Tigers

Friday, March 30th, 2007

Freshman defensive midfielder Rachel Haden tore her PCL (posterior cruciate ligament) early in the Ozark Lady Tiger’s first varsity game of the season against Wisconsin Rapids.  For Rachel and the Lady Tigers, this report means her freshman season is over after only a few short minutes.  Treatment options, including potential surgery, are currently being discussed.  Rachel said she will be going through physical therapy for at least 8 months to recover from this unfortunate injury.

Be patient and work hard Rachel . . . we look forward to seeing you back on the field next year.

Wisconsin Rapids Defeat Ozark Lady Tigers 2 – 1

Friday, March 23rd, 2007

The Ozark Lady Tigers opened their season at home on Thursday against a strong Wisconsin Rapids team.  Wisconsin Rapids scored in the 9th minute on a well hit direct kick taken from just outside the 18.  The Wisconsin Rapids team kept up the pressure, mounting several attacks in the first half that resulted in one of their forwards placing a second goal in the net in the 29th minute to take a 2 – 0 lead.  Ozark junior Erica Hogan put Ozark on the board late in the first half on a PK and the score at half time was 2 – 1 in favor of Wisconsin Rapids.  The second half was well fought with both teams spending time on the attack, but no one was able to capitalize on a scoring opportunity and the game ended with the score still 2 – 1 in favor of Wisconsin Rapids.

Following the game, both teams enjoyed a BBQ feast prepared by the Ozark Soccer Boosters.  It was the perfect end to a great week of soccer and fun.  The Ozark Lady Tigers enjoyed the opportunity to spend time with their new friends from Wisconsin and look forward to the possibility of hosting them again in the future.
